EVELYN SPENCER, Atlantic

Evelyn Louise Spencer, 64, of Atlantic, died Sept. 13, 2004, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 18, at Winterset Cemetery with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating.

Evelyn Spencer was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Winterset to Raymond and Estella Mae (Johnston) Rogers. She was a veteran of the United States Navy. Evelyn had been employed by Bell Telephone in Winterset in the mid 50s and also for Younkers in Des Moines. She had resided in Winterset and several other locations before moving to Atlantic.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Rogers, and a sister, Genevieve Mills.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeri Louise Steffens of Johnston; a brother, Leo Rogers of Winterset; and a sister, Rose Marie Niblo of Winterset.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
