EARLHAM-A funeral for Joseph Francis Foley, 82, of Earlham was held Feb. 1, 1994 at the Church of Christ at Earlham with burial following at Penn Center Cemetery near Earlham. Mr. Foley died of Alzheimers's Disease on Jan. 28 at Winterset Care Center North.
The son of John J. and Ellen Liddy Foley, he was born at Topeka, Kan. on June 25, 1911. He lived in Kansas and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s and moved to Iowa in 1937. He married Ruth Arlee Wigton on May 24, 1940. They lived in the Dexter and Earlham area farming for Hunter Brothers Farms from 1945 until 1977, when they moved to Earlham.
Mr. Foley was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers, John and Wilbern; and by three sisters, Agnes Rombeck, Goldie Terry and an infant sister, Margaret.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Arlee; two daughters, Evelyn Hougham of Earlham and Janet Cruikshank of Johnston; a son, Billy Foley of Urbandale; a brother, Walter Foley of Home, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
