Margaret F. McLaughlin, 78, of Cumming died Aug. 26, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Aug. 31) at St. Patrick’s Irish Settlement Church in rural Cumming, with burial in the parish cemetery.
Margaret McLaughlin was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Des Moines to Thomas and Agnes (Donahoe) Wiedmann and was a graduate of Patterson High School. On Oct. 22, 1949, she married Lewis McLaughlin at the Church of Assumption in Churchville. During her working career, Margaret was employed as a seamstress for JCPenney Company in Des Moines for over 25 years. She also worked in the catalog department.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Strable, Ellen Dooley and Alice Harkin, and two brothers, Thomas Wiedmann and Pat Wiedmann.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis, of Cumming; three daughters, Sharon Bell of St. Charles, Cecilia Stumpf of Des Moines and Donna McLaughlin of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Steve McLaughlin of Beulah, Colo., and Dennis McLaughlin of Cumming; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or Catholic Charities.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
