Widely-Known Jefferson Township Resident Was 60 Years of Age
George Marquardt, member of a widely known Jefferson township family, died Sunday, Jan. 25, after two major operations since the start of his illness. His health had declined steadily since the last operation, in November.
Mr. Marquardt was a life-time resident of Jefferson township and was prominent in his community. He served on the board for nine years. He was a member of the Milking Shorthorn Breeders association and specialized in purebred cattle of that breed.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Walter Marquardt, a daughter, Mrs. Albert Jones; two grandchildren; and three brothers, David, Oscar and Alfred Marquardt; all of Jefferson township.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m., from the Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township.
