ADINA FARLOW, Winterset

Funeral services for Adina Farlow, 76, were held Sat. Dec. 29 at First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Mrs. Farlow died December 25, 1991 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A Winterset resident for the past 56 years, she was born February 2, 1914 to Domique and Mary Ann (Gianni) Contri in Des Moines. She married George Farlow June 6, 1936 in Bethany, Mo.

She was a retired bookkeeper, having been employed by Farmers and Merchants State Bank and was a member of First United Presbyterian Church. Having joined the Pythian Sisters in 1965, she was a 25 year member in 1989 and was also treasurer, past chief, representative to the Grand Temple and on various committees.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son.

Surviving are a son, David Earl Farlow of Des Moines; four brothers, Lawrence Contri, Almo Contri and (Amellio) Madge Contri, all of Des Moines and Eldon Contri of California; five sisters, Gemma Contri and Retha Sharp, both of Des Moines; Lorraine Martin of West Des Moines, Alda Fini of Hayward, Wisc, and Lucille Renzo of California, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
