Doris Fay Marquardt, Van Meter

Doris Fay Marquardt, 81, longtime resident of the Van Meter area, died June 7 at the Winterset Care Center North.

Born Jan. 12, 1906, she was the daughter of Cleburgh and Rosa French Stump of rural Van Meter.

She was married to Carl O. Marquardt in December of 1925 and the couple had four children. Mrs. Marquardt lived all her married life on a farm three miles southwest of Van Meter in Madison County. She was a member of the United Brethren Church.

Survivors include sons, Lester of Booneville, Gordon of Adel and Otis of Dallas, Texas; five granddaughters, five great-granddaughters and one great grandson. Her parents, a brother and her husband preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10 at the Fisher Funeral in Van Meter and burial was at the Van Meter Cemetery.
