CLIFFORD J. MILLER Died Saturday

Clifford J. Miller, retired Winterset pharmacist, died Saturday, May 9, 1970, at Memorial hospital here. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Miller had been a resident of Winterset since 1942, when he purchased the Lewis Drug store at the southwest corner of the square. He owned and operated this store as Miller Pharmacy until his retirement a few years ago.

During his residence in this community he was active in its affairs. He was a member of Green-Rogers post of the American Legion, holding a 50-year certificate of membership in that organization. He was a member of the Winterset Lions club, Evening Star lodge of the Masonic order, and the World War I veterans organization here.

Mr. Miller was a native of Sheldon, where he was born Dec. 24, 1893, a son of Cary P. and Sarah M. Miller. He graduated from the Highland Park College of Pharmacy in 1919, and spent his active life in that profession.

He was married at Winterset on March 24, 1945, to Mary Alice Mills, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son by a previous marriage, the Rev. William C. Miller of Hayes, Kan., and a brother, Clad V. Miller of Sheldon.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the First Christian church of Winterset, with the pastor, the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
