VAN METER-A funeral for Marjorie Darlene Cassady, 75, of rural Winterset was held Dec. 28, 1993 at the Van Meter Baptist Church, with burial following at Van Meter Cemetery. Mrs. Cassady died of cancer on Dec. 24, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines.

The daughter of Glenn and Leona Miller, she was born in Dallas County on March 31, 1918. A homemakers, she had lived in Dallas and Madison counties since 1955. She was a member of the Van Meter Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her first husband, Donald Lister; and by two brothers, Bob Miller and Dale Miller.

Survivors include her husband Elmer (Hoppy) Cassady; two sons, Robert Lister of Laveen, Ariz. and Dale Lister of Manassas, Va.; a brother, Dean Miller of Fairfax, Va.; and four grandchildren.
