Clarine Young, Winterset

Funeral services for Clarine A. Young of Winterset were held Nov. 25 at First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Young, who died at Madison County Memorial Hospital on Nov. 23 was 72 years old.

Born in Dallas Center on April 28, 1909, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Bass Fox.

On Jan. 21, 1928 she married Kenneth H. Young in Tipton, Ia. Four children were born to this union.

Mrs. Young worked as a nurse's aide at both the Madison County Memorial Hospital and Winterset Care Center North.

She was active in many local clubs and organizations, including the United Methodist Women, Winterset Art Center, Farm Bureau, 4-H, Madison County Republican Women, Hospital Guild and the Dallas County Blue Cross. She attended First United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Orville and Dale Fox.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Gerald and John Young of Des Moines; two daughter, Mary Snyder of Independence and Peggy Dowler of Norwalk; a sister, Mary Lou Morgan of Des Moines; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
