Greenwood Death

James M. Greenwood, Jr. 51, of rural Winterset, died Wednesday, June 14, 1978 at his home. He was born in Madison County on June 15, 1926, the son of James M. Greenwood, Sr. and Mildred Stevens.

Mr. Greenwood was a truck driver, employed by the State of Iowa during the last six months of his career. He was also a charter bus driver for SMB Stage Lines.

The marriage of Mr. Greenwood to Elizabeth G. Kellogg took place December 30, 1949, in Winterset. She survives her husband.

Other survivors include four sons, James K., Kris Wayne and Kerry Dan, all of Winterset and Kurtis Merle of Ankeny; his mother, Mildred Mapes of Winterset; two brothers, Charles of Des Moines and Richard of Washington, D.C. and two sisters, Shirley Ann Parkins of Washington, Michigan and Nancy Diane Mapes of Grandview, Mo.

Mr. Greenwood was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services for James Greenwood, Jr. were conducted Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Winterset, Rev. Phill Hall officiating. Burial was made at the North-McDonald Cemetery.
