A resident of Madison County throughout her life, Violet A. McDonald, 56, died Sunday, November 21, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Madison County on January 5, 1920, the daughter of Hiram Isaac and Mary A. Brittain Allen.
A housewife, affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church, Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Hoosier Prairie Club and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Her marriage to Clarence McDonald took place January 10, 1938 in Winterset.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; her mother, Mary Allen; two sons, Ivan of Des Moines and Thomas with the U. S. Army; two daughters, Karen Leigh Beckman of Platville, Wisc. and Jill Diane Hoffman of Itasci, Ill. and a brother, Homer Ivan Allen, Wasco, California.
Also surviving are five grandchildren. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her father and a daughter Vicki Lynn McDonald.
Funeral services for Violet A. McDonald will be conducted Friday, Novemer 26, at 2 p.m. from the United Presbyterian Church of Winterset, Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Burial will be made at the North McDonald Cemetery.
