Miss Abrams was taken about a week previous to her death with the black measles, which, from the start, would not yield to treatment and she gradually failed until the end came as above stated. She was a very estimable young lady and one of whom the family largely depended. She is greatly mourned by all who know her.

Thursday, May 28, 1903Leonia Bell Abrams, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Abrams, was born May 8, 1878 in Madison county, Iowa. Suddenly on the 23rd day of May, 1903, death unbidden entered the home and took her away. Her illness was of very short duration. Calling her friends around her she told them that she was going home to be with her Savior. Then to a little nephew who was very dear to her she said, "Aunty is going away." She was fully prepared for the solemn event, and as death came lifted her voice in a song which she was unable to finish for the messenger hurried her away.
On Sunday, May 24th, after the funeral conducted from the home by Rev. E. E. Bennett of the Christian church, the remains were laid to rest in the Winterset Cemetery. She leaves a father, mother, one sister and one brother, besides several uncles and aunts to mourn her loss.
The father and brother being nearly blind they depended upon Leonia for almost everything. Not only will she be missed in the home but by the large gathering at the funeral told in what esteem she was held by all that knew her.
