EDNA E. TAYLOR - Winterset

Edna E. Taylor, 90, died January 4, 2004 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8 at first Christian church in Winterset, with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Henry M. Taylor; sons Edward (Lisa) Taylor, of Fairview, TX, and Ronald (Rose) Taylor of Winterset; daughter, Shelia (Mike) Waltz of Winterset; eleven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset, where family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Care Center North Gazebo Fund.

Edna Taylor, Winterset

Edna Elizabeth Taylor, 90, of Winterset died of multiple organ system failure Jan. 4, 2004, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with Pastor Joan White officiating. Visitation will be Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset from noon to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 7) with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be at Earlham cemetery.

Edna Taylor was born Sept. 23, 1913 to Charles Franklin and Harriet (Addy) Hymes of Patterson. On Oct. 1, 1938, she married Henry M. Taylor at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. A lifetime resident of the Winterset area, Edna had been a cook for the Winterset Community School District hot lunch program for over 20 years. She had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge (Past Noble Grand), West Star Methodist Church Women and First Christian Church in Winterset. She also had been active in 4-H.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wyman; six sisters, Alice, Virgie, Maxine, Phyllis, Marcella and Lillian; and a grandson, Richard Shawn Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Henry M. Taylor of Winterset; two sons, Edward Taylor of Fairview, Texas and Ronald Taylor of Winterset; a daughter, Sheila Waltz of Winterset; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
