Laura Clague, Winterset

Laura Leona Datwyler Clague, 91, died Aug. 4, 2000, from complications of a stroke at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 7, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Laura Clague wa born Oct. 1, 1908 in Madison County to John and Leona (Vannatta) Datwyler. She spent her early life on a farm near Peru. Following her father's death, she and her mother moved to Winterset where she worked at Montross Pharmacy for many years. On Jan. 2, 1966, she married Gaylon Clague in Winterset. They resided on the Clague farm for several years before moving to Winterset. They moved to Integrated Health Services in early 1998. Laura was a member of the Studious Moderns, Methodist Church Guild, Methodist Church Circle, Columbian Club and the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and a sister.

She is survived ty three stepdaughters, Shirley Leeper (husband Russell) and Connie Ramsey (husband Rod) both of Earlham and Sharon Moore (husband Dale) of Fort Dodge; two sisters, Edna Wolverton of Winterset and Velma Struve of Irwin; eight grndchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
