Funeral services for Hazel B. Clague of Knoxville, formerly of Madison County, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at the Worthington Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial was at the Worthington Cemetery with Rev. Walter Sieck officiating. Mrs. Clague died on Thursday July 26, at the Knoxville Rest Home at the age of 79.

Born on August 2, 1899, at Patterson, she was the daughter of Ralph Eugene and Jenny Stout Bell. On July 6, 1921, she was married to Glenn Clague at Indianola, who died in 1966. She was remarried on November 15, 1969 in Winterset to Ralph Clague, who died in 1977. Mrs. Clague lived in Madison County most of her life until moving to Knoxville over a year ago.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters. Surviving are a son, Thomas Clague of Bloomington, Minn.; two daughters, Mary Belle Day of Knoxville and Ruth Jones of Manchester; a sister, Alma Bell of Winterset; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Obituary

Hazel B. Clague, daughter of Ralph Eugene Bell and Jenny Stout Bell, was born at Patterson, Iowa on August 2, 1899. She was graduated from high school in Winterset and soon thereafter, July 6, 1921, she was married to Glen Clague. To this union two daughters and one son was born, Mary Bell, Ruth and Tom.

Hazel lived most of her adult life on a farm home in the Worthington neighborhood, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Worthington. On August 18, 1966, her husband Glen died, and three years later she married Ralph Clague. She and Ralph lived together until his death in October of 1977. For the past 1 ½ years she has been a resident at a nursing home in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Eugene Bell, her two husbands, Glen and Ralph, as well as by two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her three children Ruth (Mrs. Dean Jones of Manchester), Mary Belle (Mrs. Charles Day of Knoxville), and Tom of Bloomington, Minnesota; and also by one sister, Alma Bell of Winterset.
