A native of Monmouth, Illinois, who spent 86 years of his life as a resident of Madison County, Ralph Clague, died Thursday October 13, 1977, at Villa West Care Center in Winterset. He was 89.
Mr. Clague was born October 7, 1888, the son of Thomas E. and Mary E. Wray Clague. His marriage to Lena Mae Anderson in Winterset took place on January 8, 1912. She preceded him in death July 20, 1968.
On November 15, 1969 he was married to Hazel Clague in Winterset.
Mr. Clague was a past president of Madison County Farm Bureau, affiliated with Early Chapel Christian Church and an elder of the church for many years. He was retired from farming at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; three sons, John and Lloyd of Earlham and Paul of Estherville; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. from Early Chapel Christian Church, Rev. Wil R. Dilsaver officiating., Burial was made at the Worthington Cemetery.
