Kenneth Young, Winterset

Funeral services for Kenneth Young, 87, of Winterset were July 30, 1994 at the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Young died July 28 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Don Frank officiated with burial at the Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Kenneth Hiram Young was born Aug. 31, 1906 to Fred Calvin and Ada (Essex) Young. He married Clarine A. Fox on Jan. 21, 1928 in Tipton and had lived in Winterset for the past 39 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Farm Bureau. He served on the Earlham Care Board, Cub Scout Council, Senior Citizen Multi-Purpose Board, ASC Board, and the Winterset Methodist Church Board.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Gerald K. Young and John C. Young, both of Des Moines; two daughters, Mary Snyder of Independence, and Peg Dowler of Norwalk; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
