MRS. LAURA OVERTON DIED THIS TUESDAY

Years of Failing Health End For Former Winterset Resident

Mrs. Laura Overton, a resident of Madison county for many years, died this Tuesday, April 22, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Lundy, in Des Moines. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Overton was born in Polk county Oct. 5, 1882, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace. She was married to Elmer Overton in 1897, and they spent their married life in this community. Her husband died in 1927. She moved to Des Moines 14 years ago.

Mrs. Overton had been in failing health in recent years. She had one leg amputated six years ago, and the other two years ago.

Surviving are six children, Fred and Lewis Overton of Des Moines, Harley Overton of Storm Lake, Mrs. Alfred Lovejoy of Cupterino, Calif., Mrs. Lundy of Des Moines, and Mrs. William Low of Winterset. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 1:30 p. m. from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines, in charge of the Rev. Clair Borman of the Foursquare church in Des Moines. Burial will be made at Avon cemetery.
