EARL McCOLLUM DIES

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 25th at Lilly’s Funeral home in Des Moines for Earl McCollum, 41, whose death occurred last Tuesday following a brief illness with tetanus or lock jaw. Mr. McCollum was the brother of Mrs. Loyd Mason of Winterset, and had visited here the Saturday preceding his death. His illness was caused by a small scratch on his finger two weeks before, but no ill effects were noticed until he became seriously ill on Sunday. He was rushed to the Broadlawns General hospital in Des Moines, and died there last Tuesday morning.

Mr. McCollum is survived by his wife and two children Morris Lee and Earl, Jr., of Des Moines, his parents, James M. McCollum of St. Charles and Mrs. J. H. Leighton of Des Moines and three sisters, Mrs. Mason and Mrs. Bertha Sumner and Mrs. Leota Woods of Des Moines.

Burial services were held at the St. Charles cemetery.
