Wednesday, January 20. 1915Frederick House was born at Boonsboro, Washington county, Maryland, November 14, 1846. Died at his home at Winterset, Iowa, January 18, 1915, age 68 years, 2 months, 4 days.
In early manhood he was a teamster in the Civil war. Moved with his parents to Polo, Ogle county, Illinois, in 1863. He was the last of his father's family, his brother dying in Colorado in November, 1914.
He was united in marriage to Alice Joy, August 9, 1880, at Oregon, Ill. To this union were born four children-Mrs. Cora Doremus of Somis, Cal., who was unable to be present; Mrs. Myrtle White of Clarion, Ia., and Howard and Lela, at home.
He moved from Illinois to Wright county, Iowa, in 1884, where he lived until 1897, when he moved to Madison county, which has since been his home.
He united with the Church of Christ when a young man, and lived a devoted christian life. During all his long sickness he was uncomplaining, and no one could have ever received better care, loving hearts and hands ministered to his every need.
Funeral service was held at the Church of Christ January 20, 1915, 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Interment in Rock City cemetery.
