March 1915Wm. H. Weeks, one of the very early settlers of Monroe township died at his home near the Fellowship church on Wednesday of last week, at the age of seventy-seven years.
He had resided continuously in that neighborhood since 1861 and is survived by his wife and seven children, the later being grown to maturity.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday.

William H. Weeks, of Monroe township, died Wednesday, march 24th. Mr. Weeks was 78 years old. He was born in Cole county, Illinois, March 25, 1837.
He came to Madison county in April 1862 and bought a farm in Monroe township where he has always lived. Eight children, five sons and three daughters, survive him.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Fellowship church and interment was made in the Hamblin cemetery.
