Thursday, May 16, 1901Mrs. Ellen Lucas-Lovelace died at her home in Audubon co. last week and the remains were brought to this city for burial, arriving Monday. The funeral services were held Tue. afternoon from the home of her brother, W. O. Lucas, on east Court Avenue.
Deceased was the daughter of W. G. Lucas, and was born at the old Lucas homestead, just northwest of the city, Nov. 11, 1860. About 12 years ago she was married to John Lovelace, formerly of the county. On her mother's side, Mrs. Lovelace was related to the Bardrick family, the mother being a sister of George, William and Thomas Bardrick.

Page 5, Column 4The body of Mrs. Sarah Lucas Lovelace was brought from Audubon for burial, the funeral occurring at the home of her brother, W. O. Lucas, Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Lucas was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lucas, and was born on the old Lucas home farm near the city limits.
She was married to John Lovelace twelve years ago, and has resided in Audubon ever since. Her death was caused by consumption. Her husband and only child, a boy about ten years old, accompanied the body here.

On Monday John Lovelace of Audubon county, brought his wife’s remains here for burial. The funeral occurred from the home of Oliver Lucas on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. English officiating. Mrs. Lovelace will be remembered here as Miss Sarah E. Lucas, a sister of Oliver Lucas.
