MRS. EMERY SHEARER OF MACKSBURG DIES

Death Occurs at Memorial Hospital at Age of 47 Years

Mrs. Emery Shearer of Webster township died at the Madison Memorial hospital in Winteset last Friday, Sept. 4, after an extended illness. She was 47 years of age.

Mrs. Shearer was born at Thayer July 28, 1906, a daughter of Torrey and Nellie Goodridge. Her early life was spent in Lorimor, where she graduate from high school with the class of 1925.

She married Emery Shearer on April 26, 1925. They were parents of four children, one son, Wayne, dying in infancy.

Mrs. Shearer was a member of the Lorimor Methodist church, Order of Eastern Star, Woman's Relief corps of Macksburg, and the Wayside Garden club, and took an active interest in many community affairs.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Dean, at home; two daughters, Mrs. George Bailey of Winterset and Mrs. Verle Smith of Waukee; a sister, Mrs. Robert Day of Thayer; a brother, Floyd Goodridge of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Macksburg Methodist church conducted by the Rev. C. M. Rowe. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
