MARTHA FREY, Winterset

Martha J. Frey, 71, of Winterset, died of cancer April 3, 1996 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services were held April 6 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. The Rev. David Bauer officiated the services and the cremains were interred at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Winterset on Nov. 24, 1924 to Will and Ella (Johnston) Lytle. She married Russell Frey on March 12, 1943 in Winterset. She was a housewife and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the TOPPS Cub, and the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.

Surviving relatives include her husband; two sons, Nicholas M. Frey of Waukee and Michael D. Frey of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Lyla Wasson or Russell and Roseann Hodges of LaFayette, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
