Dale Shearer, Wyoming

Dale H. Shearer, 75, of Worland, Wyo., died Oct. 13, 1996 at his residence. Funeral services were Oct. 16 at Veile Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. O. O. Natwick officiated the services and burial was at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland. Worland's Floyd Minch Post No. 44 of the American Legion provided military graveside rites.

He was born Sept. 29, 1921 in Peru to Claude and Berdie (Emerson) Shearer. He was a member of the Peru Boy Scouts, and the Methodist Church. He also graduated from the local high school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with the Medical Corps in the Battle of Normandy Beach. In 1946 he married Paulene Patterson of Floris, Iowa. He had worked many years at Shearer Brothers, the family store in Peru. He was a retired painter having owned his own business. He was a member of the Peru Evening Star Masonic Lodge, and a member of BPOE No. 1908 in Worland, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Kim Shearer of Worland, and Jim Shearer of Tempe, Ariz.; one brother, Don Shearer of Omaha, Nebr.; two sisters, Berniece Miller of Powell, Wyo., and Josephine Rouse of Winterset; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Peru Methodist Church.
