Wednesday, November 1, 1972DICK CLARK Dies at 77 Years
H. S. "Dick" Clark of near Winterset died last Wednesday, October 25, 1972 at his home in Douglas Township. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Clark was a life-time resident of Madison County. He was born here August 21, 1895, a son of William V. and Mary V. Smith Clark. His life was spent in farming and working as a carpenter.
He was married February 24, 1916 to Edna F. McDonald at the Presbyterian church in Winterset. She survives him. Mr. Clark was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Albert Clark of Winterset, Robert Clark of Norwalk, Eugene Clark of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Potter of Glendale, California; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One son, Virgil Clark of Burbank, California preceded the father in death.
He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Lois Koehler and Mrs. Gladys McDonald, both of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial was made in the Chase-McDonald cemetery.
