VICKY GIVAN, Winterset

Vicky S. Givan, 41, of Winterset, died of cancer Feb. 24, 1997 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Winterset. Pastor John Shaull will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 26, from noon until 8 p.m. at the church. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.

She was born in Winterset on Nov. 26, 1955 to John and Jean (Kuhns) Baker. She was a 1974 graduate of Winterset High School. She married Michael Givan on May 19, 1974 in Winterset. She was an office clerk for Farm Bureau in Des Moines. She was a lifetime resident of Winterset and a member of the First Baptist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Surviving relatives include her mother; her husband; one son, Justin Givan; two daughters, Angel Melvin and husband Josh; and Nikki Givan, all of Winterset; two sisters, Kerri Chase of Creston and Marty Stowell of Oskalosa; and one grandson.

Vicky S. Givan, 41, of Winterset died of cancer Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Winterset, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Givan was a lifelong resident of Winterset and an office clerk for the Farm Bureau in Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband Mike; a son, Justin of Winterset; two daughters, Angel Melvin and Nikki Givan, both of Winterset; her mother, Jean Baker of Winterset; two sisters, Kerri Chase of Creston and Marty Stowell of Oskaloosa; and a grandchild.

Collins Funeral Home in Winterset is handling arrangements.
