Funeral services were held here this Monday afternoon for Mrs. Marie Abrahams, 54, of Winterset. Mrs. Abraham died at the Villa West Care Center here last Saturday, January 4, 1975.
Marie Abrahams was born in Guthrie County, on August 4, 1920, the daughter of William and Beatrice Aldridge Carmichael. She was married to George Abrahams at Guthrie Center on April 14, 1946.
Prior to 1946, Mrs. Abrahams worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Des Moines. She also worked for Winterset veterinarian Dr. David Griswold in 1968 and 1969.
A resident of Madison County for the past 29 years, Mrs. Abrahams was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Winterset. She was a member of the Americana Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, George, of Winterset; a son, John Michael Abrahams of Winterset; and a daughter, Janelle Yahnke, of Omaha, Nebr.
Also surviving are two brothers, Vern Carmichael of Fort Dodge and Tom Carmichael of Guthrie Cener, and a sister, Nell Gillespie of Lancaster, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 6, at the First Christian Church of Winterset, with the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
