MRS. JOHN PRIEST Died On Monday

Mrs. John Priest, a life-long resident of the Peru community, died Monday, Feb. 26, 1956, at her home in Walnut township. She was 74 years of age, and had been ill for about four weeks.

Mrs. Priest spent her entire life in Madison county. She was the former Margaret Travis, daughter of John and Alice Travis, and was born near Peru Sept. 1, 1881. She was married in 1906 to John Priest, who survives her.

She was a long-time member of the Peru Methodist church, and was active for many years in the Women's Society for Christian Service there.

In addition to her husband; she leaves a son, Amel Priest of Peru; a daughter, Mrs. Neva Draper of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Travis of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Peru Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
