Clark Edward "Pete" Peterson, 88, of Winterset died July 18, 2005, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. No services are planned.

Pete Person was born May 12, 1917, to Clarence Edwin and Olga Marie (Berry) Peterson of Barney. On Jan. 19, 1938, he married Lena Gertrude Hiskey in Adel. Pete owned an earth moving business and had resided in Madison County for all of his life except for the one and one-half years spent helping build the Alaskan Highway. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Peterson, and three sisters, Clara Post, Clella Cade and Cleta Brittain.

He is survived by his wife, Lena, of Winterset; one son, Charles Peterson of Winterset; three daughters, Patrica Eyerly of Winterset, Donna Speed of Carlisle and Jeanie Christen of Norwalk, and eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
