Died, at Des Moines, August 9th, Jessie, younger daughter of F. H. Wheeler, aged 20 years. It was known among her friends here that Miss Wheeler had been seriously ill for several months, but the hope of her restoration to health had not been abandoned, and the news of her death was a sad surprise to all. She was a granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robertson, and with her mother and sister Louise made her home with them for some time while they lived in Winterset. Her lovely character and winning manners made her a favorite with young and old alike, and to many the remembrance of gentle Jessie Wheeler will always be “among the beautiful pictures that hang on memory’s walls.” She was buried in Des Moines on Tuesday, by the side of her mother. The sympathy of our community will be extended in large measure to the relatives and friends, to whom the sorrow of this affliction comes nearest.
