CHARLES BRITTAIN DIED ON MONDAY

Life-Long Resident of This County Was 73 Years Of Age

Charles A. Brittain, member of a well-known Madison county family and a life-long resident of the county, died Monday, Dec. 3 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Brittain was born in Union township April 7, 1889, a son of Seth and Lucy Farris Brittain. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the United Brethren church, and the I.O.O.F. lodge in Winterset.

He was married Dec. 5, 1916, to Ethel Myers, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Ernest S. Brittain of Kent, Washington; a daughter, Florence Brittain of Winterset; a brother, Lloyd Brittain of Lorimor; and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Clark, Mrs. Josie Hendricks and Mrs. Hiram Allen, all of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home, with the Rev. John Fink, pstor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset, officiating. Burial will be made in the McDonald cemetery.
