HEART ATTACK FATAL TO CHARLEY L. COX

Charley L. Cox, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 31 at his home in Des Moines. Death resulted from a heart attack. He was 65 years of age.

Mr. Cox was born Jan. 31, 1887, at Beaver City, Nebr., a son of Francis M. and Sarah Jane Cox. He came to Madison county the following year with his parents, and spent the remainder of his life here, except for the past four years in Des Moines.

He was married to Beulah Cox on Nov. 2, 1911. They were parents of five children, one dying in infancy.

He joined the Methodist church in early childhood, later transferring to the United Presbyterian church.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Elsie Yazell of Maxwell, Ross Cox of Bussey, Mrs. Lulu McAllister and John F. Cox of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Vena Ward of Indianola and Mrs. Eva Newton of Winterset; and a brother, Boyd Cox of Safe, Missouri.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines, conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery.
