BOYD COX DIED IN MISSOURI

Boyd V. Cox, a native of Douglas township and a resident of Madison county for many years, died Sept. 30 at the Old Soldier's home in St. James, Mo. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Cox was born here Oct. 9, 1894, a son of Francis M. and Sarah Reed Cox. He served with the First division and with Company A in World War I, and remained overseas with the Rehabilitation corps for a year after the war ended.

He was married in 1918 at Winterset to Bessie Satterfield. Their lives were spent in farming in Madison county and in Missouri until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lenore Harthimmer of near Branson, Mo., Mrs. Mary Belle Rinehart of St. James, Mo., and Mrs. Maxine Elrod of Cuba, Mo.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Newton of Winterset.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday at the Gahr Funeral home in St. James, conducted by the Rev. Richard H. Terrill. Burial was made in High Gate Baptist cemetery.
