MRS. MARRET EDWARDS Died Wednesday at Age of 28 years.

Mrs. Marret Edwards of Scott township died at Lutheran hospital in Des Moines this Wednesday morning of infantile paralysis. She was 28 years of age, and was the mother of four small children.

This is the first definitely established case of polio in Madison county this year. Several other light cases have been suspected, but not definitely established.

Mrs. Edwards' death came with tragic suddenness. She had been ill three days. She was taken to the hospital Tuesday. Her condition became critical Tuesday night and she was placed in an iron lung. Her death occurred at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 1952.

Mrs. Edwards was the former Esther Spencer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Spencer. She was born in Madison County, and her early life was spent north of Winterset. She attended Winterset high school, graduating with the class of 1940. She and her husband had been living in Scott township for about nine years.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband; and four children, the eldest of which is about 6 years, and the youngest 10 months. They are Joyce, Janice, Marvin and Nancy.

Mrs. Edward's parents now live near Adel. She also leaves a sister and a brother.

Funeral is planned Friday afternoon, at the Winterset M. E. church or Richards Funeral Home.
