Services for Laurrene Warren, 70, Winterset, who died Nov. 28, 1989, at her residence, were held at the Collins Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 1, with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Jamaica, Iowa, on Aug. 12, 1919, she was the daughter of Jasper and Hattie Lewis Robinson. A homemaker and waitress, she was married to Fred L. Warren on Oct. 7, 1936 in Perry.
Mrs. Warren had lived here the past 43 years, coming from Delta, Iowa. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, secretary treasurer of the Winterset Women's Bowling Association, a lifetime member of the International Bowling Association and a junior bowling coach. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as Grey Lady for the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville and Des Moines.
Survivors include a son, Richard of West Des Moines; daughters, Joyce Cross of Kingsport, Tenn., and Patricia Kuhns of Winterset; brothers, Jasper Robinson of San Diego, Calif., Warren Robinson of Lincoln, Ill., and Dennis Robinson of Palm Desert, Calif.; sisters,Opal Turpin of Johnston and Romajean Zika of Des Moines; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, a grandchild, four brothers and a sister.
