Graveside services for Blanche Laona Hendricks, 93, Winterset, who died Dec. 25 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Tuesday, Dec. 28 at North McDonald Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Helmers officiating.
She was born in Iowa County, the daughter of Losson and Florence Buswell Myers. She was married to Oliver E. Hendricks March 1, 1911, at Winterset.
She had been a licensed practical nurse at the Peterson Nursing Home and taught at one time in the Old Stone Schoolhouse. She lived most of her lifetime in Madison County.
Survivors include sons, William C. Taylor of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Ralph Hendricks of Winterset; daughters, Ethel Haines of Winterset, Laona Goater of Cedar Rapids, Margaret Jones of Indianola, and Wilda Phillips of Forest City; sisters, Mae Addy and Ethel Brittain, both of Winterset; 26 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Walter; and a brother.
