Edna Penn, Winterset

Edna Alene Penn, 76, died February 2, 1993, in her home. Funeral services were held Sat. Feb. 6 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Berry officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Penn was born February 26, 1916 in Madison County to George and Hattie (Williams) Lorentz. She married Don M. Penn on October 8, 1933, in Des Moines.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed quiilting, making numerous quilts for her children and grandchildren. A lifetime resident of the county, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and a son.

Surviving relatives include a son, Phil and wife Barb Penn of Des Moines; a daughter, Sharon and husband Bill Mitchell of Winterset; a brother Lyle Lorentz and wife Helen of Salem Ore.; two sisters, Myrtle Silliman of Winterset and Mildred Robinson and husband Gail of Winterset; six grandchildren, Brian Penn, Lorrine Schaffer, Cindy Fisher, Scott, Brent and Shannon Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jodi Penn, Danny and Adam Fisher, and Amanda Mitchell.
