Elsie Leona Huff, Winterset

Elsie Leona Huff, 85, of Winterset died from complications of a stroke Aug. 15, 1999, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Pat Stout officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 2-9 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the family present from 7-9 p.m.

Elsie Huff was born April 22, 1914, to Irwin W. and Olive (Moon) Campfield of Fontanelle. She married Jacob "Jake" Huff on April 14, 1929 in Greenfield. A homemaker, Elsie was a resident of Winterset for 56 years, coming from Adair county. She also was a member of the Happy Hour Club and the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother and husband.

She is survived by two sons, Irwin Huff (wife Carolyn) of Bismarck, N.D., and Larry Huff (wife Sharon) of Winterset; a daughter, Virginia Chaffee (husband Joe) of Kingsville, Mo.; four sisters, Bernice Gray of Winterset, Myrtle Diers of Des Moines, and Gladys Mitchell and Bertha Anderson, both of Des Moines; a sister-in-law, Alice Huff Emory of Fontanelle; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
