DON WARD DIES IN DES MOINES

Don C. Ward, formerly of Winterset and Madison county, died July 19th in Des Moines after a brief illness. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Ward was born in Washington county Dec. 29, 1882. He engaged in farming in Madison county for many years, later moving to Winterset. For the last 15 years, he had lived in Indianola, until after the death of his wife, the former Vena Cox, which occurred last January. Since then he had lived with a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bevins, in Des Moines.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bevins of Des Moines, Mrs. Caroll Rinard of Des Moines, and Mrs. Clarence Chase of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Robert Ward of Kodiak, Alaska, and Hugh Ward of Detroit, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 21 from the Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with the Rev. Glen Lamb, officiating. Burial was made at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.
