Page 1FRED M. MILLS DIES
Frederick M. Mills, a former resident of Madison county died in Des Moines, Wednesday, September 26, at the age of 60 years. He was born in Winterset, on October 11, 1873, a son of Albert and Mary Ann Lucas Mills. Here he was married to Clara Burns, on May 23, 1893, and they were the parents of three children. His wife and two sons, Robert B. Mills and Frederick L. Mills of Des Moines, survive him. He also leaves a granddaughter, Betty Mills of Des Moines, a brother, Claude Mills of Stuart, and four sisters, Mrs. Bert Hardy, Mrs. Minnie Koehler and Mrs. Frank Welch of Winterset, and Mrs. Stella Wilson of Des Moines.
For the past thirty years he has been employed by the Des Moines Ice and Service company of Des Moines, and at the time of his death he was night clerk of the company. Funeral services were held at the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines, Saturday, and the Rev. Stevens of the Calvary Baptist church, had short services at the Winterset cemetery, where the burial took place.
