PERRIE CUTSHALL Died (Van Meter Special)

This community was shocked on Friday morning when it was learned that Perrie Cutshall had passed away during the night. Many had not known of his illness. He was taken ill with the influenza a week previous, but his condition was not serious until the first of the week when pneumonia developed. He was taken to the Iowa Methodist hospital Thursday afternoon where a heart attack caused his death shortly before midnight.

Perrie Cutshall was born Sept. 16, 1878, on the farm south of Van Meter which has always been his home, and passed away Thursday night, Nov. 18, 1943, at Iowa Methodist hospital at the age of 65 years, two months and two days. He was one of six children, four boys and two girls, born to the late Sam and Sarah Cutshall who came here from Ohio.

A sister Eva May and two brothers, William and John preceded him in death.

On December 8, 1915 he was united in marriage to Ida Chase of Winterset. Two children came to bless their home, Virginia who is 16, and Robert 6.

Mr. Cutshall was a member and faithful attendant of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife and children, a brother, George Cutshall of Van Meter, and a sister, Mrs. Janey Sheets of Des Moines.

The funeral service will be held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock; conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Earl McGinness. Burial will be made in the Winterseet cemetery.
