Death of Mrs. William T. Libby

Mrs. William T. Libby, resident of Winterset for over twenty years, died here Sunday evening, October 7th, at the age of 84 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, and were conducted by Rev. W. W. Bentzinger, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Libby, formerly Miss Susan Rachel Moulding, was the daughter of Thomas and Rachel Moulding, and was born in Lancashire, England, on February 15, 1850. At the age of two years she came to America with her parents and they moved to Cook county, Illinois. On July 3, 1868, she was married to William T. Libby, and they moved to Greene county, Iowa, in 1878, and to Madison county in 1902. About eleven years later they moved into Winterset, where they made their home until the time of Mrs. Libby’s death.

Mrs. Libby was the mother of eleven children. Two girls, Esther and Minnie, and one boy, Fred James, died in early childhood. She is survived by her husband and the following eight children: Mrs. Etta Dillinger of Peru; Mrs. Myrtle Linn of Ralston, Iowa; Fred of Barney; Albert of Peru; Charley of Winterset; Frank of Lorimor; and William and Elmer of Winterset. She also leaves twenty-five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
