Life-Long Resident of Lee Township Was 75 Years of Age
Ira S. Spencer, a life-time resident of Lee township, died at a Des Moines hospital. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Spencer was born April 27, 1892, near Booneville, a son of Henry and Lillian Spencer. He was married to Mary Misner of Cummings on Dec. 25, 1916. They lived on a farm west of Cummings for 21 years then moved back to his home place south of Booneville.
He was active in the affairs of his community over a long period of years.
He leaves his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Marquardt of Booneville and Mrs. Lillian Ulloa of Fullerton, California; eight grandchildren, and a brother, Donald Spencer of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Booneville Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Quinlan. Burial was made in the Booneville cemetery.
