Services for Essie Worley, 104, Winterset who died June 18, 1987, at the Winterset Care Center North where she resided, were held at Collins Funeral Home on Saturday, June 20, with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Winterset on Aug. 12, 1882, she was the daughter of Michael B. and Alice Hartford Holmes. She was married to Wesley R. Worley on Aug. 15, 1906 in Winterset.

A homemaker, she spent her lifetime in Winterset except for three years in California. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Winnie Mahan of Winterset; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and a sister.
