Alyce B. Weems, Winterset

Services for Alyce B. Weems, 73, Winterset, who died April 13 at her residence, were held Saturday, April 16 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur McCann officiating. Burial was at the Calvary Cemetery, Creston.

Born Oct. 25, 1909 at Wilton, she was the daughter of Arthur and Louise Berry Ayres. She was a homemaker and had been a beautician in Ottumwa. She had lived in Winterset since 1976, moving from Ottumwa, and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a past member of the Eastern Star.

She married Percy Weems Jan. 11, 1976 in Winterset. He survives along with step-daughters, Donna Dueling of Des Moines, and Ardith Hiatt of Earlham, and a sister Peggy (Mrs. Paul) Perry of Santa Clara, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ernest McCann and two sisters
