Percy B. Weems, Winterset

Services for Percy B. Weems, 74, Winterset, who died Nov. 29 at the Country Haven Retirement Home where he resided, were held with the Rev. Bob Brite officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery and VFW graveside rites were held by Post No. 8142.

Born at Charles City on June 23, 1911, he was the son of David and Cleo Dean Weems. He was a retired plant operator at the Winterset Municipal Light Plant.

On Sept. 3, 1941, he was married to June E. Ayres. She died Jan. 10, 1975. On Jan. 9, 1976, he married Alyce McCann. She died April 13, 1983.

Mr. Weems was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and a lifetime resident here. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his mother, of Winona, Minn.; daughters, Donna (Mrs. James H.) Dueling of Des Moines and Ardith (Mrs. Curtis) Hiatt of Earlham; brothers, Byron Weems of Delevan, Ill., and Dan Libby of Muskegon, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death was his father.
