Helen Mae Miller, Winterset

Helen Mae Miller, 82, of Winterset died September 13, 1998 at Winterset Care Center South. Funeral services were September 16 at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Lucy Elrick, officiated the service and burial followed at the Greenfield Cemetery.

She was born December 7, 1915 in Creston to Robert W. and Jessie (Shuler) Quinn. She married Samuel Wayne Miller on October 10, 1937 in Creston. She was a secretary at various businesses in Creston and a clerk at First National Bank and had lived in Lincoln Township for 18 years, south of Orient for 18 years and moved to Creston in 1978. She was a member of the Jerusalem Methodist Church, the Orient United Methodist Church, the Creston Methodist Women’s Circle, the Greater Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Creston Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include one son, Ted and wife Joyce Miller of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one daughter, Barb and husband Dean Mapes of Winterset; two sisters, Mary and husband Bob Herron of Macksburg, Hazel Kralik of Orient; two sister-in-laws, Wilma Quinn of Creston and Mary Quinn of Gallatin, Mo.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
