Glen G. Silverthorn Succumbed Saturday

Rev. A. R. Weed Conducted Funeral at Worthington Church Tuesday

Glen G. Silverthorn, a farmer of the Worthington community for the past 13 years, died at the Winterset hospital Saturday. He was 63 years of age.

Mr. Silverthorn had spent most of his life in Madison and Adair counties. For several years he had lived in the Dakotas, Colorado, and Canada.

He was born in Adair county on Aug. 26, 1877, the son of Philip and Dora Silverthorn. He became a member of the Hill of Zion church in Adair county as a young man, later transferring his membership to the Hebron and then the Worthington churches.

On March 8, 1921, he was united in marriage to Hazel M. Parkins. They were the parents of two sons, Glen, Jr., and Philip.

He is survived by the wife and two sons; two sisters, Blanche Myers of Independence, Mo., and Mrs. Myrtle Kieth of Ames; two brothers, Ray and Claude Silverthorn of Orient; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed of Carl. Burial was made in the Hill of Zion cemetery.
