Carl Bloomquist, Earlham

Carl Bloomquist, 86, rural Earlham, died of smoke inhalation April 11, 1997 at his residence. Funeral services were April 15 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor David Clark officiated the services and burial was at Penn center Cemetery in Earlham,I.O.O.F. graveside services were provided by the Stuart lodge.

He was born in Waurika, Okla., on Sept. 21, 1910 to B. August and Della (Speer) Bloomquist. He was a farmer and had lived most of his lifetime in Madison County. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Stuart for over 50 years, and a member of the Early Chapel Christian Church in Earlham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving relatives include sisters, Elsie Beaman and husband Claude of Dexter, Augusta Rehard of Peru, and Kathryn Heckner of Bogart, Ga.
